Professional information is collected from publicly available sources and/or submitted by professionals or firms.
Available admission, licensing and jurisdictional information is reviewed against relevant authoritative sources where possible.
Practice areas, locations and publicly available professional information are reviewed for consistency.
Listings may be reviewed periodically, and users or professionals can request corrections or updates.
Where verification information is available, CounselStrata reviews publicly available professional and licensing information. A listing may include the following fields, and only where that information is actually recorded:
Information is drawn from publicly available professional listings, firm-published biographies, and information submitted directly by a professional or an authorised representative of a firm.
Where a specific source is recorded for a listing, that source is shown on the listing. Where no source is recorded, none is displayed. CounselStrata does not display a source, database name or licensing body unless that source is actually recorded for the listing.
Jurisdiction refers to the place in which a professional is recorded as admitted to practise. Admission information is presented as recorded at the time of review and may change without notice.
Admission and licensing frameworks differ between jurisdictions. CounselStrata does not interpret those frameworks, assess eligibility, or determine whether a professional is suitable for a particular matter.
Where a listing includes status information, it reflects information reviewed at the time of review only. Status can change at any time, including through suspension, retirement, resignation or administrative changes recorded by a licensing authority.
Users should independently verify a professional's current credentials and standing with the relevant licensing or regulatory authority before engaging legal counsel.
Listings may be reviewed periodically. A review date is shown only where an actual review date is recorded for that listing. Where no review date is recorded, no date is displayed.
Anyone can report information they believe to be inaccurate, outdated or incomplete. Professionals and authorised representatives can also request changes to, or removal of, a listing.
Correction requests are reviewed individually. Submitting a request does not guarantee that a change will be made; requests are assessed against available information and our listing policy.
CounselStrata makes reasonable efforts to review information using publicly available sources, but cannot guarantee that all information remains current, complete or accurate at all times.
Verification indicates that information was reviewed against available sources at the time of review. It does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, guarantee of current professional status, competence, or suitability.
